Welcome to The Painted Moose Artist Collective, a premier art gallery destination nestled in the beautiful foothills of Bragg Creek, Alberta. We are a unique, member-owned artisan cooperative featuring 16 extraordinary local creators specializing in fine art paintings, pottery, textiles, jewelry, and wood crafts. Have you seen an artist using gold leaf in their painting?

It’s fun to watch Andrea add light and sparkle to her original acrylic painting with gold leaf. It not only provides additional interest to the piece, it gives the perception of sunlight naturally glowing over the petals…. It’s that softening and illumination along the thin edges - a warmth that the light brings.

Andrea has been with the Painted Moose for nine years now, although the time has come for her to move onto other ventures. If you have been thinking about one of Andrea’s beautiful art pieces, she will be showing at the Painted Moose in Bragg Creek until the end of June.

Don’t miss the crocus blooms coming alive in the early spring or the aspen trees gently swaying in the hillside breeze. Andrea brings them to life with a gentle graceful presence and a radiant light.
If you’re more interested in the west coast beaches and setting suns with a glossy epoxy finish, she has these too. Such stunning pieces can be found at the brush of Andrea’s hand.

A tour of Heidi’s ranch - south Bragg Creek 🐑

Don’t you love seeing behind the scenes…. Where your product originates, how it’s made, the real person behind it.

Heidi has lived and loved on this acreage for decades, building her dreams and developing a successful nature based business.

Here, the sheep roamed, the chickens pecked, the sun’s glow greeted the hills with nurturing heat, the rains fed the land.

The wool product used for her hand knit product has come straight from sheep that wandered the hills, sheared and spun into gorgeous hand dyed skeins of wool, knit for endless hours overlooking the stunning views as the sun goes down over the hills.

French press natural soaps are made from the sheep tallow, arnica oil pressed from the organically grown flowers, wool critters emerge with felting needles and a vision of life.

Andrea Slack, one of the original founding members of the Painted Moose Artists Collective, is beginning a painting of some crocuses .. the first spring blooms. Mixing her palette and putting down the colours layer by layer . Every day there are two artists working at the Painted Moose so come out to Bragg creek and visit us. Who knows! The crocuses in Andrea’s painting may have burst to life and she will be putting on the finishing touches by the time you get here. A studio tour with Frank Bitonti - the hard rock sculptor 🪨

Part of the appreciation of art is seeing the hard work and all the steps behind the finished product - where the hands do the work & the creative has a vision.

Even before all of this, it starts at the quarry, selecting stone, transporting it to the studio. Big giant slabs, heavy huge boulders. How does one even start?

Watch Frank as he takes one big giant piece of stone down to smaller segments, then eventually putting his artists mark onto rock canvas to create bears, trees, hearts….and more.
