About The Painted Moose Artist Collective
Discover Local Artistry in the Foothills of the Canadian Rockies
Welcome to The Painted Moose Artist Collective, a premier art gallery destination tucked into the beautiful, historic Hamlet of Bragg Creek, Alberta. More than just a store, we are a thriving, member-owned artisan cooperative featuring 16 extraordinary local creators. Inside our doors, the vibrant spirit of Alberta comes alive through an incredibly diverse range of masterfully handcrafted works—from breathtaking fine art oil paintings and rugged rock sculptures to delicate fused glassware and cozy, local fiber arts.
The Painted Moose was born out of a shared vision: to create a dedicated space where independent Albertan artists could bypass traditional retail hurdles, support one another, and connect directly with the community.
What makes our gallery truly special is how we operate. We don’t have a detached corporate staff or outsourced retail workers. Instead, our cooperative is completely owned, managed, and staffed by the 16 artists themselves. We alternate days behind the counter, meaning that every time you walk through our doors, you are being greeted, assisted, and inspired by one of the actual creators whose work adorns our shelves. This unique model ensures that every purchase directly supports the local creative economy, keeping the authentic heart of Canadian craftsmanship beating strong in our foothills community.
