Frank Bitonti

Frank was born in Italy.  His family immigrated to Calgary, when he was just a year old. After graduating from technical school in Calgary in 1976, Frank started his career in telecommunications, where he spent 37 years until his retirement in 2013. However, retirement didn't last long - in 2006, he discovered a passion for carving as a hobby, and by 2013, he was having so much fun as a self-taught sculptor that he decided to pursue it full-time. The summer of 2025, he decided to take his skills to the next level by attending a marble sculpting workshop in Pietrasanta, Italy.

His rock Sculptures and Sand’n’sketch art are shared all around the world.  He created a sculpted headstone for a customer that can be found at the cemetery in Canmore, Alberta.  This past spring he was chosen by the 2025 G7 summit committee to make a tree sculpture for each of the spouses of the G7 and IMF leaders.
